Google is developing an exciting project named “Jarvis,” an AI assistant designed to take control of computers and perform various web-based tasks, from online shopping to research.

According to The Information, citing three inside sources, Jarvis is built using an advanced version of Google’s Gemini AI, specifically optimized for the Chrome browser. This smart assistant can analyze webpage content by taking screenshots, click on buttons, and enter information into text fields. Currently, Jarvis requires a few seconds to complete each action.

However, Google is not alone in this space. Microsoft, Apple, and the AI startup Anthropic are also working on similar AI models. Microsoft’s Copilot Vision, Apple’s Apple Intelligence, and Anthropic’s Claude are all set to revolutionize how users interact with computers.

Google initially planned to introduce Jarvis in December, though this timeline may change. It’s also expected that Gemini 2.0, Google’s next-generation AI, will be available for a limited group of users for testing in December. Google has not yet released any official information about Jarvis. We’ll have to wait and see what future plans this tech giant has in store.
