Apple’s artificial intelligence (AI) was recently unveiled alongside the launch of the new iPhone series, showcasing some exciting features. In this article, we will introduce five AI capabilities from Apple that have already thrilled many iPhone users, and you might be excited to experience them as well.

1. A Smarter and Newer Siri
Currently, Apple’s only exclusive smart assistant is software called Siri. It seems we’re seeing further evolution in Siri, similar to how Google’s assistant was renamed to Gemini AI. However, Apple is working to add more capabilities to Siri.

Apple also intends to change Siri’s appearance. In the past, we saw a glowing orb, but now a rainbow frame surrounds the entire display. While this might not seem too exciting to many users, die-hard Apple fans are probably eagerly awaiting this new AI feature.

2. Typing Questions to Siri
Honestly, many iPhone users have been waiting for this moment — to be able to type their questions to Siri instead of speaking them out loud. While asking questions verbally seems more convenient, typing allows you to do so more accurately and ensures Siri fully understands your query. Also, when you’re in public or in a café, typing your question into Siri is a more discreet option than speaking out loud.

When Apple’s AI is released, you’ll be able to double-tap the bottom of your screen, which will open a special Siri keyboard where you can type all your questions. Although typing may remove some of the conversational tone, it doesn’t affect the intelligent assistant’s responses. Your questions can still access all apps to gather personal information and continuously search for relevant answers.

3. Adding Personal Content to Requests
Another new Siri feature expected is enhanced personalization. Similar to Gemini AI, Siri can ask you questions through apps to gather more information about you. Siri can also scan texts, emails, and calendar invites to find the right response. However, you’ll need to grant Siri the necessary permissions for this personalization to work properly.

The benefit of personalizing Siri is that you can delegate tasks and manage various programs through this app. For example, if you want to send a specific email or edit a particular photo, Siri can do it easily. Even if an error occurs during execution, Siri will perform better with each update.

4. Creating New Emojis with Genmoji
If you’ve worked with AI tools like Leonardo, you’re probably excited about a similar service being integrated into the new iPhones. Apple is working on not one, but two image generation tools. With Image Playground, you can design creative images, and with Genmoji, you can make your emojis a bit more unique and personalized.

Based on what we’ve seen from Image Playground, Apple’s approach seems quite exciting. While Google’s Pixel Studio doesn’t generate “people,” and Samsung’s Portrait Studio only creates “people,” Apple’s Image Playground can combine people with artistic styles and allow you to add elements you want by typing. However, you don’t need to have a human subject to create something; more flexibility is expected from Apple’s program.

Apple’s other image generation tool, Genmoji, may not be thrilling to everyone, but personalizing emojis seems very fun and engaging. Many users are likely to appreciate the personalized approach of Emoji Kitchen. You can even turn an image of a person into an emoji, making it easier to work with human subjects in this area.

5. Grammar Correction with Writing Tools
Another AI-based tool that seems to be extremely useful on both Android and iOS is the ability to correct the grammar of your handwritten text. Fortunately, Samsung users have been using this feature, called Google Help Me Write or Writing Assist. Apple’s AI incorporates this feature as well, which will be highly beneficial for those who write professionally. However, general users, especially Persian speakers, won’t be able to use this AI capability for their Persian writing.

Additionally, Apple seems to offer more tools for creating emails or rewriting text. You can likely check documents for grammatical errors and make corrections. There’s also the option to summarize content. You can even respond to email inquiries with just a few clicks, as Apple has officially integrated smart replies into its operating system. So, you no longer need to type every single word for replying to different emails.

Prioritizing Notifications
Thankfully, Apple has finally realized it needs to change how notifications are displayed. While we won’t see a complete overhaul of notifications, Apple’s AI allows for a better way of presenting them. For instance, text messages will be delivered with precise time and date stamps. Even better, Apple’s AI can summarize the most important notifications and show them to you — perfect for when you don’t have time to read through all of them.

You can also set how many notifications you want to see on your lock screen. If you deal with numerous emails daily, Apple’s AI can identify the most important ones and show them to you.

Undoubtedly, more AI features from Apple will be revealed soon, but for now, these are considered the most exciting ones. However, it’s unclear exactly when we’ll see these new features. Some will be part of iOS 18.2, while others will remain hidden until iOS 18.4, set to release in 2025. Will Apple’s AI bring even more exciting features in the future? Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait and see!
